Rainer Esser
Rainer Esser (born January 11, 1957 in Wolfenbüttel ) is a German journalist , lawyer and media manager .
Life
After completing a banking apprenticeship at Deutsche Bank, Esser studied law at the University of Munich and at the University of Geneva , at the US University of Georgia in Athens , where he obtained a Master of Laws degree. From 1986 to 1987 he attended the German School of Journalism in Munich. In 1989 he received his doctorate on the subject of lawsuits against foreign states at the University of Regensburg . Esser then worked briefly in a law firm in Munich and then in Hamburg. From 1989 to 1992 he was editor-in-chief of the legal journals Business Law Europe , Tax Letter Europe and European Business and Tax Law . Esser then ran the Spotlight publishing house until 1995, and from 1995 he took over the management of the Main-Post media group . Since 1999 he has been managing director of Zeit Verlag and since 2011 managing director of DvH Medien GmbH .
