Rainer Hank
Rainer Hank (born January 24, 1953 in Stuttgart ) is a German business journalist . He headed the business and finance department of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung (FAS).
Life
Hank studied literature , philosophy and Catholic theology at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen and the University of Freiburg / Friborg . He received his doctorate in 1983 on the literature of Viennese modernism .
Rainer Hank is the author of numerous journalistic books on economics. He represents neoliberal positions here , criticizes the welfare state as the cause of the euro crisis and favors an austerity policy .
In 2013 he was awarded the Karl Hermann Flach Prize , in 2014 he received the Hayek Medal from the Friedrich A. von Hayek Society . Rainer Hank is a member of the jury for the Ludwig Erhard Prize for Business Journalism from the Ludwig Erhard Foundation . He is a member of the Wilhelm Röpke Institute .
His book Lob der Macht (2017) was nominated for the German Business Book Prize and has been widely discussed in public. a. at the University of Witten / Herdecke .
