Rainer Koltermann

Rainer Koltermann SJ (born March 18, 1931 in Freudenfier ; † July 12, 2009 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German philosopher .

Life

He had to leave his home with his family in 1946 and found a new home in Lüdinghausen . After graduating from high school in March 1952, he entered the novitiate of the Society of Jesus. In 1954 he took his first vows in Ehringerfeld . The study of classical languages ​​and German in Tisis near Feldkirch (1954–1955) was followed by philosophical studies in Pullach near Munich (1955–1958). His love for nature gained a scientific foundation while studying philosophy. Philosophical questions from biology were brought up to him by the then professor of natural philosophy Adolf Haas . He studied theology at the PTH Sankt Georgen from 1958 to 1962. On July 31, 1961, he was ordained a priest in the Imperial Cathedral of St. Bartholomew . After studying theology, he went on to study biology at Goethe University , which he completed in January 1969 with the dissertation learning and forgetting processes in honey bees. Shown on the basis of scent training on January 28, 1969, graduated with a doctorate . In November 1974 he received his habilitation in Würzburg . From the 1975/76 winter semester to the 2000/2001 winter semester, he lectured at the Philosophical-Theological University of Sankt Georgen, Natural Philosophy . Since 1976 he has also been Professor of Zoology at the University of Mainz . From January 2000 to 2006 he was in charge of the Sacred Heart Congregation in Frankfurt-Oberrad . He looked after the Sankt Georgen park .
