Rainer Kubatzki

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rainer Kubatzki (* 1944 ; † March 12, 2009 ) was a German historian .

Life

Kubatzki worked as a freelancer at the Berlin School of Economics from 1979 to 1990. He then wrote for the Historical Commission in Berlin .

Kubatzki's work Forced Labor Camps and Prisoner of War Camps was described by critics as a “unique compendium” in the year it was published in 2001. It shows in detail by whom and when labor camps were operated in Berlin and the surrounding area. From this representation it can be seen that without the use of the forced laborers, everyday war life would not have been possible.
