Rainer Woerlen

Rainer Wörlen (born July 26, 1946 in Mittenwald ; † November 3, 2009 ) was a professor of commercial and private law at the Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences and author of textbooks in German and English, which have become known as learning in dialogue .

Life

Rainer Wörlen was born in Mittenwald in 1946 and graduated from Konrad-Heresbach-Gymnasium in Mettmann in 1966 . After completing his military service, Wörlen began studying law at the universities of Würzburg and temporarily in Lausanne (1972 and 1973), which he successfully completed with the first state examination in 1975. In 1978, after completing a legal traineeship, the second state examination took place in Munich.

From 1981 to 1986 he worked as a councilor in the Office for Agricultural Regulations in Münster. On March 1, 1984, he accepted a professorship for private business law at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences in the insurance department . Further professorships followed, including a. from April 1, 1995 a professorship for private business law at the Harz / Wernigerode University of Applied Sciences in the department of economics. Since September 1, 1996, Wörlen has been working at the Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences; he was one of the founding professors of what was then the business law department (today the business law department).

Wörlen took early retirement on March 1, 2007. He died on November 3, 2009.
