Rainer Weibel

Rainer Weibel (born July 3, 1921 in Landquart ; † July 23, 2002 in Rheinfelden ) was a Swiss entrepreneur and politician .

Weibel studied for his school at the University of Zurich , Friborg , Bern and Geneva law . In 1947 he completed his studies in Friborg with a doctorate. In 1949 he was director of the pottery factory in Laufen . In 1970 and 1986 he was President of Keramik Holding AG in Laufen and Delegate of the Board of Directors. Between 1950 and 1956 he was in the Bernese Grand Council . In 1955 he was also elected to the National Council, of which he was a member until 1967. When the Laufen office was connected to the canton of Baselland , he was the negotiator.

Weibel was married to Ruth Weibel-Gerster (1923-2010). She was the daughter of the company founder and pottery manufacturer Joseph Gerster from Laufen. Their common grave is in the Rheinfelden forest cemetery .
