Rainer Welz (politician)

Rainer Welz (* 28. October 1943 in Bunzlau ) is a German politician of the CDU .

After attending secondary school, Welz completed a commercial apprenticeship in Hamburg and Berlin , which he completed as a forwarding agent. In 1965 he made his name as shipper independently .

In 1984 Welz joined the CDU, where he was a member of the board of the Lichtenrade local association as an assessor as well as the district board in Tempelhof and the economic council of the CDU, he was also district chairman of MIT Berlin. From 1991 to 1995 he was a member of the district assembly in Tempelhof , where he was most recently deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group and chairman of the committee for popular education and the arts. In 1998 he moved to the Berlin House of Representatives , to which he was a member until 2001.
