The Rajon Nowokodak (Ukrainian Новокодацький район / Nowokodazki rayon , Russian Новокодакский район / Nowokodakski rayon ) is one of eight counties ( Rajone ) the city Dnipro , the Oblastzentrums the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast in the Ukraine .
The Stadtrajon is located in the northwestern part of the city on the right Dneprufer and with 169,756 inhabitants (2008) is the most populous administrative district of Dnipro and with its area of about 88.7 km² also the largest.
The Rajon was called Lenin Rajon from 1940 to November 26, 2015 , the name is derived from Vladimir Ilyich Lenin , the founder of the Soviet Union . On 26 November 2015, he was in the context of de-communization in Rajon Nowokodak renamed. The Rajon was founded in 1940 from the union of two formerly independent city rajons (Kodatski and Fabrichno-Checheliwskij).
