The Rake Brook is a watercourse in Lancashire , England . It arises north of Great Hill and flows north. Its confluence with the River Roddlesworth was expanded between 1850 and 1857 by Thomas Hawksley to the Rake Brook Reservoir , which connects to the western end of the Lower Roddlesworth Reservoir, which was built at the same time . On the west side of the Rake Brook Reservoir is a canal built by Hawksley called The Goit , which connects to the Rivington Reservoirs .
