Ralf Bucher (born April 6, 1972 in Munich ) is a former German soccer player . He was mostly used as a central defender .

In his youth, Bucher played for TSV Neubiberg and in 1989 moved to neighboring Unterhaching . After he was able to establish himself in the first team, he rose to the 2nd Bundesliga in 1992 with SpVgg . In his first professional season Bucher came to 32 missions, but just missed relegation with his team. From 1995 he played second class again with Haching and was also part of the team that sensationally achieved promotion to the 1st Bundesliga in the 1998/99 season .

Bucher lost his regular place in the top German division and only made 28 appearances in two Bundesliga years. He then remained loyal to his club even after two successive relegations to the Regionalliga Süd and so rose to the 2nd Bundesliga for the third time in 2003 with the Munich suburbs. There he was usually only used sporadically until coach Werner Lorant brought him back to the starting line-up and at the same time made him team captain. Haching was relegated from the second division for the third time during Bucher's career and qualified in the following season - again with Bucher as a regular player - for the newly created third division . Ralf Bucher completed a total of 193 second division games.

Ralf Bucher, who played for SpVgg Unterhaching for 20 years, was the last remaining member of the Bundesliga team and had long been the favorite of the Haching fans, who mostly called him "Bucherinho". His rare goals were particularly celebrated. After he had previously only scored in the Bayernliga , Regionalliga and DFB-Pokal , he was able to score his first goal in a professional league with a penalty on the 7th matchday of the 3rd division in the away game against SSV Jahn Regensburg .

After the 2008/2009 season, Bucher ended his career as a professional footballer and in the following season initially worked as head of marketing at SpVgg Unterhaching . When Ralph Hasenhüttl was on leave of absence from SpVgg Unterhaching on February 22nd, 2010, Ralf Bucher took over the position of team manager of the first team, one month later he finally became manager of the club. He held this office until June 2010.
