Ralf Kleindiek (born August 26, 1965 in Hameln ) is a German lawyer and ministerial official ( SPD ). He is a Senior Advisor at the Boston Consulting Group . From January 2014 to March 2018 he was State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1984, he did community service in Hameln until 1986 . From 1986 to 1991 he studied law at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen . From 1991 to 1996 he was employed there as a research assistant and received his doctorate in 1997 on the subject of science and freedom in the risk society. A fundamental rights dogmatic investigation into the norm area of ​​Art. 5 Para. 3 Clause 1 of the Basic Law . He then completed his legal clerkship.

As a lawyer , he worked for the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI) from 1999 to 2002 , including in the “Modern State - Modern Administration” department and as head of the “ BundOnline 2005 ” project group . From 2002 to 2007 he was head of the office of the then Federal Minister of Justice Brigitte Zypries . Then he was sub-department head and head of the planning team in the Federal Ministry of Justice (BMJ) until 2009 . After that, Ralf Kleindiek was sub-department head in the central department and representative of the Federal Ministry of Justice for Information Technology (IT) until March 23, 2011 .

From March 24, 2011 to January 7, 2014 he was State Councilor in the Hamburg Authority for Justice and Equality. From January 8, 2014, he was State Secretary in the Merkel III cabinet under Manuela Schwesig and later Katarina Barley in the Federal Family Ministry . In 2015 he represented the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg in the lawsuit against the federal government regarding the introduction of a childcare allowance for small children. After moving to the Federal Ministry of Family Affairs during the proceedings, however, he then had to represent the position of the Federal Government. Since March 19, 2018, he has been a Senior Advisor at the Boston Consulting Group .
