Ralf Knütter

Ralf Knütter (born April 6, 1955 in Potsdam ) is a former German athlete who competed for the GDR .

Life

Knütter was a trained bricklayer and served as a sergeant in the NVA . As a member of the ASK Vorwärts Potsdam army sports club , he was a member of the German Association for Athletics of the GDR from 1976 to 1979 . At the World Athletics Championships in 1976 in the Swedish city of Malmö , he took part in the 50 km walk (road) for the GDR . Knütter achieved eighth place with a time of 4:05:41 h. At the GDR Athletics Championships in 1975 in Erfurt , he finished second in the same discipline (4:15:39 h) and in 1976 in Karl-Marx-Stadt (4:15:39 h). In 1977 in Dresden he was GDR champion with a time of 4:22:43 h . His personal bests were in 1976 with 1: 30: 22.8 h in 20 km walk (road) and in 1978 with 50 km walk (street) in 3:58:36 h.
