Ralf Reichenbach (born July 31, 1950 in Wiesbaden ; † February 12, 1998 in Berlin ) was a German athlete and Olympian who - starting for the Federal Republic - was a successful shot putter in the 1970s . His greatest success is second place at the 1974 European Championships .

Ralf Reichenbach initially belonged to the sports club OSC Berlin , later to the LG Süd Berlin . He was 2.00 m tall and weighed 135 kg when he was active.

Reichenbach died of sudden cardiac death , probably as a result of doping with anabolic steroids . According to Manfred Ommer , Reichenbach would have said during his playing days: "I'd rather die ten years earlier if I become Olympic champion."
