Ralf Sonn

Ralf Heiner Sonn (born January 17, 1967 in Weinheim ) is a former German high jumper . At the European Indoor Championships in 1992 he won the bronze medal.

At the European Indoor Championships in The Hague in 1989 , Sonn was in an international final for the first time and finished fourth with 2.27 m. In the summer he finished second behind Dietmar Mögenburg at the German championships . In the indoor season of 1990, Sonn won his first German championship title, but only achieved seventh place at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow with 2.24 m. In the open air season he was again runner-up behind Mögenburg. At the European Championships in Split he came seventh with 2.28 m. Sonn defended his championship title in the 1991 indoor season. On March 1, he achieved the highest jump of his career in Berlin with 2.39 m.

In the 1992 indoor season he won his third championship title in a row. At the European Indoor Championships in Genoa won Patrik Sjöberg ago Sorin Matei , and Sun won with 2.29 meters on par with Dragutin Topić bronze. In the summer, Sonn won his only outdoor title at the German Championships in Munich. Outdoors he was runner-up behind Beyer, but was eliminated from qualifying at the World Championships in Gothenburg . In 1996, Sonn won his sixth indoor title.
