Ralf von Diericke (born July 27, 1961 in Osnabrück ) is a former German soccer player . Von Diericke became known because he was sentenced to six years' imprisonment for serious robbery and, as a prisoner, was the first prisoner in Germany with a contract as a professional footballer. He and an accomplice had robbed the office of his own club, Wuppertaler SV , and robbed a game library.

Life

Von Diericke played as a youth footballer at Schinkel 04 , Osnabrücker SC and Blau-Weiß Schinkel. From the amateur team of VfL Osnabrück he made the leap into the professional squad and made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga in 1980/81 . He then moved to the Oberliga Nordrhein for Wuppertaler SV, where he was able to resume and finish his apprenticeship as a wholesale merchant , which he had broken off because of football . In the storm next to Jonny Hey he was the top scorer in the 1982/83 season with 14 goals. After another change, he played 14 Bundesliga games for Fortuna Düsseldorf in the 1983/84 season . Towards the end of the season, however, he was only a reservist. Despite a two-year contract, he left Fortuna Düsseldorf to rejoin Wuppertaler SV. This breach of contract resulted in a six-month ban.

On February 17, 1985, a masked man attacked the Wuppertaler SV office. He knocked down a secretary, locked her in the toilet and stole the proceeds from ticket sales of a WSV game against FV Bad Honnef amounting to 11,000 DM from the safe. After several weeks of investigations, von Diericke, who had been used as a center forward in the game, gave an accomplice the tip and delivered a sketch of the premises in the office and also confessed to Schmiere himself. In addition, he admitted that he was masked and armed with a gas pistol and robbed a Wuppertal toy library and stolen 2,000 DM. In September 1985 the Wuppertal Regional Court sentenced him to six years in prison for serious robbery.

As a striker of the prison team, von Diericke played, among other things, a friendly game against VfB 06/08 Remscheid , which became aware of him. After an expert opinion on a positive social prognosis , he was transferred to the open penal system in Remscheid-Lüttringhausen and played for the league club in 1987/88 , where he was also employed as a caretaker. He then moved to Union Solingen , still a prisoner, and made 27 appearances in the 2nd Bundesliga there in the 1988/89 season.

After his release from prison, von Diericke was active for Preussen Krefeld , Sportfreunde Siegen , VfB Kleve , SV Straelen , Siegfried Materborn and in the regional league B as a player- coach at Rheinwacht Erfgen. After the end of his active career, he trained the A-youth of the SV Hönnepel / Niedermörmter club from 2006/07 and is now an insurance specialist . After he had temporarily retired from football for professional reasons, the then 48-year-old announced that he would play for DJK Hüthum in the district league C in the 2009/10 season.
