The Ralung Monastery ( tib . Ra lung dgon ) or Shedrub Chökhor Ling ( bshad sgrub chos' khor gling ) is a monastery of the Drugpa Kagyü School ( 'brug pa bka' brgyud ), one of the so-called "eight smaller schools" of the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism ( Vajrayana ). The monastery was founded in 1193 by Tsangpa Gyarepa (1161–1211), the first Gyelwang Drugpa , in the western Tibetan region of Tsang . It is located in the Ralung ( ra lung ) municipality of Gyangzê (Gyantse) County in the Xigazê (Shigatse) administrative district in the Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China .

The monastery complex was completely destroyed in 1966 during the Chinese Cultural Revolution . It has been partially rebuilt since 1984.
