Ramona Buxbaum (born March 5, 1962 in Messel ) is a German architect .

Live and act

Ramona Buxbaum studied architecture at the Technical University of Darmstadt . After graduating in 1989, she initially worked in various architectural offices. In 1990 she founded her architectural office ramona buxbaum architekten in Darmstadt. In 1994 she was a lecturer at the Technical University of Darmstadt in the Department of Building Construction II under Professor Moritz Hauschild, in 1999 she worked as a lecturer at the Technical University in Hanover under Klaus Trojan. She has been an energy consultant since 2002 and has been authorized to provide evidence of preventive fire protection since 2006.

Since the beginning of her studies she has dealt intensively with Ernst Neufert's architecture . After studying architecture, orders followed for the revitalization of the single dormitory and the energetic renovation of the hydraulic engineering hall, which are considered Ernst Neufert's masterpieces. From 2009 to 2015, her architecture office was in the Atelier Planstatt, the former Ernst Neuferts architecture office. A book was published in 2003 on the revitalization of the single dormitory. It is related to the architect August Buxbaum , who was urban planning officer for the city of Darmstadt from 1904 to 1930 and who had a major impact on the cityscape.

In March 2015 she moved her architecture office and her residence to the forester's house at Jagdschloss Kranichstein, a listed building ensemble that she had previously extensively renovated. Due to her qualifications in building in existing buildings and in the preservation of monuments, she was appointed to the monument advisory council of the city of Darmstadt in 2016. In 2020 she was appointed to the design advisory board of the city of Mannheim. Ramona Buxbaum architects has already received several awards at prizes advertised throughout Germany.
