Ramses VIII. Was the 7th ancient Egyptian king ( Pharaoh ) of the 20th Dynasty ( New Kingdom ) and ruled for only one year or just a little longer from 1129 to 1128 BC. He was the son of Ramses III. and uncle of his predecessor Ramses VII.
There is very little evidence of Ramses VIII. In the prince procession in Medinet Habu his name is written in a cartouche . He is the least attested Pharaoh of the Ramessids . Neither grave nor burial equipment are known of him. His mummy was never found. Zahi Hawass , former head of the Supreme Council of Antiquities , and an Egyptian excavation team set out to find the tomb in 2007, but the search remained unsuccessful.
