origin
Ramses VII was the son and successor of Ramses VI. and his wife Nubchesbed and nephew of his successor Ramses VIII.
Domination
Several administrative and economic documents as well as five hymns to the Pharaoh have survived from his reign .
The economic crisis of the time, which caused the price of grain to rise, is reproduced in documents from the workers' settlement of Deir el-Medina . The response to this was the looting of the necropolis , which took place with the cooperation of local authorities (see also Ramses IX ).
His grave
The king's most important monument is his tomb ( KV1 ) in the Valley of the Kings . In contrast to the other graves in the valley, this is rather modest. Apart from the sarcophagus (granite lid over a deep pit), shabtis and four faience vessels found near the cachette of Deir el-Bahari , nothing of the furnishings has survived . Nothing is known about the mummy's whereabouts .
