Ran Danker , Hebrew רן דנקר , actually Khalil Danker , (born January 7, 1984 in Virginia , USA ) is an American- Israeli actor , singer and model . He has received several awards, including the Gold Screen Award for best actor for his role in the telenovela HaShir Shelanu (he: השיר שלנו, Our Song).

Life

Danker was born in Virginia , USA to the Israeli actor Eli Danker . When he was 2 years old, he moved to Israel with his mother, where he grew up in the Tel Aviv area . During his school days he moved to Netanya with his mother . Between university and military service, Danker played various roles in TV commercials, for example for Channel 10 , Bank Leumi and Cellcom of Israel. As a schoolboy he also worked as a delivery agent for Domino's Pizza in Netanya.

Career

He played in the musical The Sound of Music in Tel Aviv and later in Haifa . In 2004 and 2005, Danker took part in the Festigal - an annual Chanukkah song festival. He also worked as a model for Diadora . In The Sound of Music , Danker played the German postman Rolf, who fell in love with Liesl. Danker sang various songs, including the song Ani Esh (he: אני אש, "I am fire"). From 2004 to 2007 he played the leading role in the telenovela HaShir Shelanu (he: השיר שלנו, Our Song) together with Ninet Tayeb . In 2008 he starred in the film Restless . In 2009 he played the 19-year-old gay yeshiva student Ezri in the Israeli drama You shouldn't love (he: עיניים פקוחות, "Eyes Wide Open") , who developed feelings for Aaron (Zohar Strauss) - a married Orthodox Jew.

Awards

December 2005 Danker won the Gold Screen Award for Best Actor for his role in the telenovela HaShir Shelanu (he: השיר שלנו, Our Song). January 2006 he received the Kids Channel Award for Best Actor. The readers of the Pnai Plus TV digest named him actor of the year 2006 and 2007 as the most sought-after bachelor of the year.
