Randy is a Swedish punk band , founded in 1992 in Piteå . Her albums have been on Burning Heart Records since 1998 . In April 2007 the band announced their split from Burning Heart. Since 2006 the band had almost disappeared from the scene, until in the summer of 2013 they surprisingly announced an exclusive festival appearance at the Roeds-Rock Festival in Germany, as well as a concert in Canada.
style
Randy's style changed over the years. While ska and hardcore influences were clearly audible at the beginning , the songs later became increasingly pop . The band's lyrics have always taken a clearly left-wing political position with positive references to Marxism ( Karl Marx and History ) and the Spanish Civil War . The songs are about oppression by capitalism , racism and sexism, with a positive mood of the possible change in conditions ( they fear us ) always resonating. Loosely based on Emma Goldman ( if I can't dance, it's not my revolution ), life and partying besides the work that sucks us is also sung about ( working class radio ). Other topics are vegetarianism and environmental protection .
Others
Singer Stefan Granberg is also involved in Dennis Lyxzén's project The Lost Patrol .
