Randy de Jong

Randy de Jong (born June 15, 1993 in Heerenveen ) is a Dutch chef . He is the head chef of the Kesselhaus restaurant in Osnabrück, which has been awarded one star by the Michelin Guide .

Life and career

De Jong grew up in the village of Rutten in the Dutch province of Flevoland . As a three-year-old he wanted to be a chef. He began the relevant training at the age of 15 in Emmeloord .

After several positions in upscale gastronomy in the Netherlands, he successfully applied for a position as a chef in the German three-star restaurant la vie in Osnabrück, where he worked under restaurateur Thomas Bühner and his head chef. After the restaurant was closed in the summer of 2018, he started as head chef in a newly opened restaurant in the Fledder district of Osnabrück . In November 2019, the kitchen under de Jong's management immediately received 16 out of 20 possible points in the Gault Millau 2020 restaurant guide . Four months later, it was rated with one star in the 2020 Michelin Guide . The following summer, the gourmet magazine Der Feinschmecker nominated de Jong as one of six chefs working in Germany for the 2020 rising star .

De Jong is married and lives in Osnabrück.
