Rangitihi is a small settlement in the Far North District of Northland on the North Island of New Zealand .
geography
The settlement is located about 7 km east of Kaitaia on the Awanui River . The New Zealand State Highway 1 runs through Rangitihi and connects the settlement directly with Kaitaia . The settlement of Pamapuria follows in a south-easterly direction . At Rangitihi , back roads to the settlements of Fairburn go 3 km northeast and Takehue about 8.5 km south.
