Fairburn is a small settlement in the Far North District of Northland on the North Island of New Zealand .
geography
The settlement is about 8 km east of Kaitaia and about 3 km north of New Zealand State Highway 1 . Closest settlements on the highway are Rangitihi in the west and Pamapuria in the southeast. There are secondary roads to the north to Kaingaroa and Aurere and to the south-east to Peria .
On Beckham Road, about 1.5 km east of the town, is the touristically developed Millennium Nocturnal Park , where ostriches are kept and kiwis and glowworms live, which can be viewed on guided tours in the evenings.
