Aurere is a small settlement in the Far North District of Northland on the North Island of New Zealand .
geography
The settlement is on New Zealand State Highway 10 between Lake Ohia in the west and Taipa in the east. To the north of the settlement the Awapoko River flows into Doubtless Bay and thus into the Pacific Ocean . The settlement is separated by the course of the river from the southern end of the Karikari Peninsula and the Tokerau Beach on its west side . The access to the peninsula is about 4 km west of Aurere.
