Rantso Alfred Mokopane (born August 8, 1994 ) is a South African athlete who specializes in the obstacle course .

Athletic career

Rantso Mokopane gained his first international experience in 2013 when he finished 84th in the U20 rankings at the World Cross Country Championships in Bydgoszcz after 24:35 minutes. In 2016 he took part in the obstacle course at the African Championships in Durban , where he finished seventh in 8: 35.02 minutes. In the following year he reached eleventh place in the 1500 meter run in 3: 47.97 min at the Summer Universiade in Taipei and won the silver medal behind Poland's Krystian Zalewski in 8: 36.25 min . Two years later he won the silver medal again at the Student World Games in Naples in 8: 30.37 minutes and this time had to admit defeat to Moroccan Mounaime Sassioui . In addition, he qualified for the first time for the World Championships in Doha , in which he did not reach the final with 8: 42.22 min .

In 2014 and from 2016 to 2019 Mokopane was South African champion in obstacle course. He is a student at Northwest University in Potchefstroom .
