Ranunculus paludosus German also, chervil Buttercup called, is a plant type from the family of the buttercup family (Ranunculaceae).
description
Ranunculus paludosus is a perennial stem hemicryptophyte that reaches heights of 5 to 25 centimeters. The root neck is thickened and has a collar made of interwoven fibers. The outer basal leaves are usually simple, broadly wedge-shaped-ovoid, broadly toothed and three-lobed. The inner basal leaves are three-cut, their sections are deeply incised. The crown is 9 to 14 millimeters in size. There are usually 1 or 2, rarely 3 or 4 flowers per stem . The nuts are 2 millimeters in size and oval to circular. The beak is 1 millimeter in size and almost straight or curved upwards.
The flowering period extends from February to April.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 8, 16 or 32.
Occurrence
Ranunculus paludosus occurs in the Mediterranean and the Orient. In Crete, the species grows in Phrygana , on clay surfaces and on fallow land at altitudes of 0 to 1500 meters.
