The lawn spurge ( Euphorbia capitulata ) is a plant type from the genus spurge ( Euphorbia ) in the family of Euphorbiaceae (Euphorbiaceae).

description

The turf milkweed is an evergreen, perennial , herbaceous plant that reaches a height of 3 to 10 centimeters. The leaves are less than 10 millimeters long and obovate. The stem leaves are alternate. The enveloping cups have 8 glands.

The flowering period extends from June to July.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 12.

Occurrence

Turf milkweed occurs on the Balkan Peninsula in Albania, Greece and in the former Yugoslavia on limestone cliffs and in limestone crevices at altitudes of (950) 1600 to 2800 meters.

Turf milkweed is rarely used as an ornamental plant for rock gardens.
