Raskin & Fleischmann (2010-2016) was a Belgian-Austrian duo .

Act

Philippe Raskin and Johannes Fleischmann met in August 2009 during the Pablo Casals de Prades Festival. Since their debut in Vienna in November 2010 , they have played concerts in Europe, Africa and North and South America. Her debut album with works by Ludwig van Beethoven , Johannes Brahms and César Franck was released in November 2011 , which was positively received by critics. In addition to their debut concert at the Wiener Musikverein , the duo performed several international concert tours in 2014/15.

A focus of their programs, which led to several world premieres of the duo, was contemporary music. Raskin & Fleischmann repeatedly worked with the composers Christoph Ehrenfellner and Serkan Gürkan , who dedicated works to them.

In addition to their concerts in the Musikverein Wien , Flagey in Brussels and the great hall of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow , Raskin & Fleischmann held master classes and gave workshops for children and young people from socially disadvantaged backgrounds at El Sistema Turkey, the University of Medellín, the Michael Joseph Center Nairobi, in the Korogocho / Nairobi slum , in Bogotá , Limassol , Paphos , Nicosia , Xabiá and Yerevan .

Awards

The Austrian Foreign Ministry appointed Raskin & Fleischmann as NASOM (“ New Austrian Sound of Music ”) ambassadors for 2014/15 .

Due to their “outstanding performances as a chamber music ensemble”, Raskin & Fleischmann received the “ Piano Chamber Music Award ” of the ISA Festival 2014.
