Johannes Fleischmann (* 1983 in Vienna ) is an Austrian violinist.

Career

The violinist received his first instrumental lessons at the age of five. He graduated from the Musikgymnasium in Vienna and founded the “o (h)! - ton Ensemble, Vienna” in 2003. In the same year he began studying at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Klaus Maetzl and Christian Altenburger, which he graduated with honors in 2011. Since 2011 Johannes Fleischmann has been deepening his chamber music knowledge with Johannes Meissl and Hatto Beyerle . He also attended master classes with Erich Höbarth , Rainer Honeck, András Keller , Peter Nagy, Ruggiero Ricci , András Schiff and Dora Schwarzberg. Johannes Fleischmann was a scholarship holder of the “Angelika Prokopp Foundation of the Vienna Philharmonic” and the “Tokyo Foundation”.

Fleischmann made his debut as a soloist in May 2009 with the violin concerto by Johannes Brahms in the great hall of the Wiener Konzerthaus . This was followed by appearances with the Sinfonietta Baden under Christoph Ehrenfellner in the Wiener Musikverein and the Sinfonietta Cologne.

Concerts & projects

Fleischmann's chamber music companions include: a. Christian Altenburger , Rainer Küchl , Sergey Malov , William Hagen , André Cazalet , Christopher Hinterhuber , Johannes Meissl , Norman Shetler and François Benda . He took part in the festivals "International Musicians Seminar Prussia Cove", the "European Culture Days Frankfurt", "Attersee Klassik", the "Festival Pablo Casals de Prades", the "Quincena Musical de San Sebastián" and the "Styrian Chamber Music Festival" “And played in the Wiener Musikverein , the Wiener Konzerthaus , the great hall of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, the Brucknerhaus Linz, the Carnegie Hall , the Philharmonie im Gasteig Munich , Alte Oper Frankfurt , the Suntory Hall in Tokyo and the Flagey in Brussels.

In addition to his solo and chamber music projects, Fleischmann was often a guest of the Vienna Philharmonic and worked with well-known conductors such as Daniel Barenboim , Colin Davis , Valery Gergiev , Nikolaus Harnoncourt , Lorin Maazel , Zubin Mehta , Riccardo Muti , Georges Prêtre , Simon Rattle and Christian Thielemann .

His collaboration with contemporary composers such as u. a. Serkan Gürkan , Christoph Ehrenfellner , Rudolf Kelterborn , Ernst-Ludwig Leitner , Paul Gallister and Fabio Vacchi led to several world premieres, such as Christoph Ehrenfellner's “Hunting Sonata” in the Wiener Musikverein or Serkan Gürkan's “Mein Wien”. Both works were dedicated to Johannes Fleischmann.

As a cultural ambassador for The New Austrian Sound of Music (NASOM) program launched by the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs , numerous concerts have taken him to Armenia, Belgium, Guadeloupe, Italy, France, Japan, Canada, Kenya, Colombia and Lebanon , Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Mozambique, Austria, Russia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Turkey, Tunisia, Poland, Hungary, Cyprus and the USA.

From 2010 to 2016 he performed worldwide with the pianist Philippe Raskin as Duo Raskin & Fleischmann .

In 2019/20 Fleischmann gives regular concerts with the Schoenbergtrio Vienna, which he founded, the Neue Wiener Concert Schrammeln and the pianists Norman Shetler , Ryoma Takagi , Magda Amara , Christoph Ulrich Meier and Oscar Micaelsson .

Fleischmann is a founding member of the Symphoniacs , an international electro-classical music project by the composer and music producer Andy Leomar.

Fleischmann regularly gives workshops for children and young people from socially disadvantaged backgrounds and the like. a. at El Sistema Turkey, the University of Medellín , the Michael Joseph Center Nairobi, in the Korogocho / Nairobi slum , in Bogotá, Limassol, Paphos, Nicosia, Xabiá, Yerevan. In 2018 he organized a benefit concert in the MuTh concert hall of the Vienna Boys' Choir for the benefit of Superar - an institution that offers free access to high-quality musical funding.
