Town Hall (Franconian Crumbach)
The town hall in Fränkisch-Crumbach (also former Pretlack'sches Palais ) is a town hall in a former aristocratic seat in the Odenwaldkreis in Hesse .
history
The building was built in 1719 as the Pretlack'sches Palais by the Hesse-Darmstadt general Johann Rudolf Victor von Pretlack . Before that, there was a house of the von Haxthausen and Bernstorff families here . A double coat of arms from a portal keystone was walled in on the south side. Furthermore, Pretlack had demolition material from Rodenstein Castle used for the construction .
Most of the building was renovated around 1802. It has been owned by the municipality since 1860. At first it served as a school, at times also as a post office. The town hall of the municipality of Fränkisch-Crumbach has been located here since 1968.
investment
The former Pretlack palace is a fourteen-axis, elongated stone building with a hipped roof . The building has recently lost a lot of its aesthetics due to the installation of full glass windows. A spacious park with a lake of 22 acres was part of the building . It was parceled out and sold in the 19th century, the street name "Allee" still reminds of the park. The neighboring Pretlackstrasse is reminiscent of the von Pretlack family .
