The town hall (also known as Friesenhausen Castle ) in Giebelstadt , a market in the Lower Franconian district of Würzburg ( Bavaria ), was built around 1709. The town hall at Marktplatz 3 is a protected architectural monument .

description

The castle , built for Johann Gottlob Zobel von Giebelstadt-Friesenhausen, is an elongated hipped roof with a baroque structure . It was built according to plans by the builder Joseph Greissing . In the blasted segment arch gable above the portal there is a relief with the alliance coat of arms of Johann Gottlob Zobel von Giebelstadt (1679–1730) and his wife Maria Sophia von Berlichingen-Rossach.

Todays use

In 1979 the community of Giebelstadt acquired the former castle and converted it into the town hall. Since 1984 the building has been used by the Giebelstadt municipal administration, the Giebelstadt administrative association and the Giebelstadt branch of Raiffeisenbank Ochsenfurt .
