Town hall (Gochsheim)
The town hall in Gochsheim , a municipality in the Lower Franconian district of Schweinfurt ( Bavaria ), was built in 1561. The town hall on Plan 2 is a protected architectural monument .
description
The two-story saddle roof building with a half-timbered upper floor is slightly offset in front of the gate of the medieval alley . The town hall forms the end of the central village square of the imperial village, which was free until 1802 . The building with three to six window axes has three arched entrances with open staircases in front . The ground floor is made of rubble stone with corner blocks and sandstone walls on the doors and windows. The coat of arms of Gochsheim with the imperial eagle and a crenellated wall can be seen on the east side . The initials of the Unter vogt "HHV" (= Hermann Hartlaub Untervogt) and the year 1561 are carved underneath .
The large council chamber on the upper floor has a central support with a ship's throat and fluting with timbered saddle wood and beams . All wooden components have carved star and flower motifs as well as pearl cord and braided ribbon motifs .
