History and description

The town hall has a massive ground floor, two upper floors and four attic floors. The year 1431 is affixed above the northern, ogival portal . In the middle of this north side there is a dwelling . All floors protrude slightly and the building has 8 to 12 axes . An open roof turret with a bell sits on the high gable roof in the east . The interior of the building was adapted to the needs of the administration, only the meeting room with its wooden ceiling with beams and supporting arches still has old building fabric.

The half-timbered structure, which was exposed in 1935, has partially carved corner posts and otherwise has few decorative shapes such as the Franconian man .

Todays use

Since the extensive renovation between 1986 and 1993, the adjacent half-timbered house from the 17th century has been structurally connected. The town hall is the seat of the city administration and the administrative association Oettingen , the city tourist information is located on the ground floor.
