Allstedt town hall

The town hall in Allstedt is a monument in the district of Mansfeld-Südharz in Saxony-Anhalt .

Some cities in southern Saxony-Anhalt were elevated to city status more than once. This not only applies to Sandersleben and Gerbstedt , but also to Allstedt . There is evidence that the city of Allstedt was already mentioned in an enfeoffment from Elector Friedrich the Arguable in 1425. In 1510, Allstedt was raised to the rank of town again by Elector Friedrich the Wise and given corresponding privileges (lower jurisdiction, self-administration, market privileges, brewing rights). Shortly afterwards, around the year 1510, this received a city wall and introduced its own city seal.

Obviously the town hall was built in the 15th century, because there is also a portal on the ground floor dated to 1472. This late Gothic building was later rebuilt several times, so that its appearance today is strongly influenced by the Renaissance. The Renaissance gable on the south side of the building comes from such a redesign in the 16th century. The building inscription 1609 in the meeting room proves another renovation . The listed town hall of Allstedt is registered in the monument register with the number 094 30592.
