Rauschenbach is a district of the Saxon community Neuhausen / Erzgeb. in the district of central Saxony .

The original Weiler Rauschenbach plant is located about 3.5 kilometers northeast of Neuhausen in the Ore Mountains . The settlement is located directly below the dam of the Rauschenbach dam , to the south the extensive Einsiedler forest borders the corridor. State road 211
leads through the village to Bienenmühle , which branches off from the S 214 Olbernhau - Deutscheinsiedel between Hirschberg and Oberneuschönberg .

The first documentary mention dates from 1760 as Neu Raschenbach . The settlement was founded around 1660 by Bohemian exiles . Since then, the place has belonged to the Parish Cämmerswalde.

August Schumann names 18 in the State, Post and Newspaper Lexicon of Saxony Rauschenbach regarding a. a .:

“The village, which is directly subject to the office of Zöblitz, counted in 1801 with the epitome of the Scharschmidtschen estate, only 40 consumers; [...] until the year 1660 there was only one board mill, called the Rauschenbacher, next to the Cämmerswalder board mill. "

In 1875 Rauschenbach was a district of Neuwernsdorf. In 1924 it was incorporated into Cämmerswalde together with him.

In connection with the construction of the dam, accommodation was built in Rauschenbach for the workers involved in the construction. After the end of construction, one of the most modern rest homes of the FDGB of the GDR was created through conversion. On June 28, 1968 the FDGB vacation home "Paul Gruner" with a capacity of 380 beds was inaugurated. Between 1968 and 1990 it accommodated well over 200,000 vacationers. Today it is used as a retirement and nursing home.

On January 1, 1994, the new community Neuhausen was formed from the previously independent communities Neuhausen and Cämmerswalde, Rauschenbach became a district of the new community.
