Raymond Macherot
Raymond Macherot (* the thirtieth March 1924 in Verviers , † 26. September 2008 ) was a Belgian comic - Author and - signatories .
Life
Macherot began drawing cartoons for the satirical weekly magazine Pan under the pseudonym "Zara" after the end of the Second World War . In 1953 he joined the magazine Tintin , for which he initially created illustrations and cover drawings. The following year he developed the character Anatol . In 1959, Percy Pickwick was followed by a retired British secret agent . After three episodes with this character, Macherot decided to leave Tintin and switch to Spirou . The rights to Anatol and Percy Pickwick remained with the publisher Le Lombard and both figures were later taken up by other draftsmen. At Spirou he developed other characters such as the cat Chaminou and the mouse Sibylline and worked with René Goscinny , Raoul Cauvin , Yvan Delporte and André Franquin , among others . In 1990 Macherot retired.
