They accompany and guide visitors through the exhibition in self-made, true-to-the-original costumes Bremen history and stories.

As a project of the employment agency bras eV - working for bremen , the museum has been open to visitors since May 2006.

background

In addition to the aspect of lively conveying historical events in Bremen, the main focus of this museum project is on imparting knowledge and skills in different areas to the actors. Most of the performers are long-term unemployed , i.e. without employment for more than a year . Refugees are also employed there. The Bremen Story House project tries to support the unemployed in their search for work by giving the actors new self-confidence . This happens through the game in the exhibition , the contact in the reception and checkout area, in the administration or in public relations . The long-term unemployed learn about the exhibition content and the associated historical context in individual and group training. In addition, their acting skills are developed and trained. The employment project is mainly financed by public funds from the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen , the federal government and the European Social Fund (ESF).
