The readybank was a German bank with headquarters in Berlin Friedrichstrasse . The stock corporation belonged to the WestLB successor company Portigon and had 105 employees (as of 2012).

Business areas and organization

The bank's total assets were EUR 263 million in 2005 and EUR 750 million in 2008. The main business was consumer loans with the main product ready & go credit , which were sold via around 60 savings banks in North Rhine-Westphalia with around 1,000 branches and via the Internet . Chairman and member of the board (until July 30, 2012) was Heinz Mayer, another member of the board from March 2012 was Peter Stemper, succeeding Ms. Christiane Wolff.

From January 2007 to September 2011 readybank was connected to the Payback customer loyalty program .

As of April 1, 2012, Readybank's new lending business was discontinued.

history

The history of the bank goes back to 1929. The company was founded in Berlin under the name ABC Abzahlungs- und Belieferungs-Creditvermittlungs GmbH . In 1952 the name was changed to ABC Waren-Kredit-Gesellschaft mbH , and in 1998 to ABC Privatkunden-Bank GmbH . From 1997 Bernhard Steinrücke was a managing partner.

In March 2006 readybank emerged from ABC Privatkunden-Bank GmbH and became its legal successor, at the same time it became part of the WestLB Group. Under pressure from the EU Commission, WestLB was forced to either sell or liquidate readybank, among other things.

The 22 readybank branches were closed until June 30, 2010. In October 2011 it was confirmed that the S-Kreditpartner will take over the Readybank business with an existing volume of around 700 million euros. On May 21, 2012, a demerger and takeover agreement was signed, which outsources parts of the assets to SKP Beteiligungs GmbH & Co. KG .

Readybank ag ceased to exist on November 13, 2012 (merger with WestLB's successor company Portigon AG).

Marketing and social engagement

The company advertised the ready & go credit by sponsoring clubs in the first and second Bundesliga (including Bayer 04 Leverkusen and FC Schalke 04 ).

As the main sponsor, together with Stadtsparkasse Haltern am See and Christoph Metzelder, the bank supported the promotion of young talent at TuS Haltern by developing and promoting the club's soccer team and training young soccer players. For every loan sold, readybank donated one euro to the Christoph Metzelder Foundation.
