Reaktor was a band that mixed styles such as jazz , funk , drum and bass and house with German-language texts.

history

In 1997, drummer Tromla met bassist Flo: Pee and keyboardist Kazteen in Saarbrücken to perform electronic music in public. The intention was to give computer-generated music a human face. Live rhythms and choppy, sample- like chants should contribute to this. The first club concerts took place in Saarbrücken and after a few years an agency was found that could mediate the band nationwide. For example, in 2003 they played at the KOMMZ or in 2004 at the Soundgarden Festival in Friedberg (Hesse) . In 2004 the album Hyperdimension was released on the independent label Bastard Records . In total, the band played more than 200 concerts, including jazz festivals, university and art events. A special feature of the band is the mix of music genres and the ability to dance the music at the same time. The mostly German-language chants are reminiscent of samples or rap texts, but have a more rhythmic function and are intended to evoke machine-like associations through individually repeated sentences .

criticism

[...] The songs are overflowing with energy. Fortunately, reactors never fail because of their high standards. The songs don't sound overloaded or too intentional, because they are skillful. On the contrary: the attention to detail, the originality and the professionalism with which work was carried out here are impressive. (Kai Florian Becker)
