Career

Krzysztof Szramiak started lifting weights in his hometown of Opole in his early youth. The member of the KS Budowlani Opole sports club was supported by various coaches and was able to achieve some international successes in the junior area. So he was in Košice in 2000 Junior European Champion (U 16) in the weight class up to 70 kg body weight with a duel of 275 kg (120-155). At the European Junior Championships in 2002 in Nuovo / Italy , he finished 5th in the middleweight division. At the Junior World Championships in 2004 in Minsk and at the Junior European Championships in 2004 in Burgas , he was vice- world champion and vice-European champion in duels, each weighing 335 kg , in the last year of his junior time in middleweight .

Krzysztof Szramiak was also able to place himself in the front of the field at several international championships in the senior category, but also had to accept some disappointments because he did not perform in important competitions in pushing. This happened to him u. a. also at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens , where he failed three times at 182.5 kg after a good 160 kg in the snap in the push.

The best placings he achieved at international championships were a 5th place at the 2004 European Championships in Kiev with 342.5 kg (157.5–185), a 4th place at the 2005 European Championships in Sofia with 340 kg ( 157.5 kg) , 5-182.5), here he won the bronze medal in the European Championship with 157.5 kg, a 4th place at the 2006 European Championships in Władysławowo with 350 kg (158-192), while he won the tear with 158 kg again an EM bronze medal and a 5th place at the European Championships 2007 in Strasbourg with 347 kg (157-190).

In 2008 Krzysztof Szramiak was able to qualify again for participation in the Olympic Games. In Beijing he reached the middleweight duel 352 kg (161-191) and finished 8th. After the Olympic Games he had to undergo shoulder surgery and was therefore only able to start training for the 2009 World Cup in Goyang very late . He therefore did not quite bring his usual performance there and had to be content with 335 kg (155-180) in a duel with 14th place.

At the European Championships 2010 in Minsk Krzysztof Szramiak was able to achieve the greatest success of his career. He was there with 351 kg (160-191) in a duel in all three sub-disciplines Vice European Champion.
