Rebecca Jenkins
Rebecca Jenkins (born 1959 or 1960 in Innisfall , Alberta ) is a Canadian actress and singer.
Early life
Jenkins was born in Innisfail and during her childhood spent a few years in Halifax , Nova Scotia and a year in New York .

She began her acting career in 1987 after graduating from the Vancouver Playhouse Acting School. She has starred in the CBC series Black Harbor , and in the films B ye bye, Blues (1989), Marion, Wilby Wonderful (2004), Whole New THings (2005) and Supervukan (2005). She also had a supporting role in the 1992 film Bob Roberts as Dolores Perrigrew.
Rebecca Jenkins also appeared on the NBC miniseries 10.5 - The Earth Shakes , where she portrayed California Governor Carla Williams. She also appeared in the series Supernatural (2006). Her next television project was Past Sins (2006), which appeared on Lifetime. In 2012, Rebecca Jenkins played re-enactment scenes in the documentary Stories We Tell .
She won a Genie Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 1990 for her role in Bye Bye Blues .

As a singer, Jenkins was primarily a support singer for Jane Siberry and Parachute Club. She also recorded music for a number of compilations and benefited from Canadian albums, and performed in the Count Your Blessings concert with Siberry, Holly Cole, Mary Margaret O'Hara and Victoria Williams. Jenkins also played on the Goodbye Adios Blues Soundtrack album; Her character in the film is that of a woman who sings jazz to support her family while her husband is away during WWII.
Finally, on September 1, 2005, she played in the recording entitled "Adiós Adiós Blues" in Calgary, opening the night of Alberta's centenary. In 2007 she planned to release her first solo album, a collection of jazz standards. Her husband, Joel Bakan, a jazz guitarist for the company, with Al Matheson on trumpet and Liam Macdonald on drums and percussion. Following this jazz publication, the original material was released.
She also took part in a five-week radio series called Tranquila with singer-songwriter David Ramsden. The radio show was recorded weekly with four new singers at the CBC Glenn Gould Studio. Guests were Carole Pape, Holly Cole, Lee Whalen, Lori Yates, Molly Johnson, Kate Fenner and Mary Margaret O'Hara.
Private life
She married Joel Bakan, author of the book and documentary The Corporation , on Galiano Island in July 2004 and they have two children.
