Rebo

Rebo is a red wine variety that is mainly grown in Trentino ( Italy ). It is a cross between the Merlot and Teroldego varieties; Rebo Rigotti (1891–1971) did this in 1960 in the wine research institute “Istituto agrario di San Michele all'Adige”, today Fondazione Edmund Mach in San Michele all'Adige (Trentino). In 1990, 33 hectares were planted with this variety in northern Italy . Small stocks are also known in Switzerland . (0.3 hectare, status 2007, source: Office fédéral de l'agriculture OFAG)

In wine it is considered hardy plant. Rebo is a variety of the noble grapevine ( Vitis vinifera ).

  • Synonyms: The Rebo grape variety is also known under the names IR 107-3, Incrocio Rigotti 107-3 or Rigotti 107-3. In all 3 cases there are different ways of writing the breeding line number.
