The shipping company Ed Line GmbH is a shipping company based in Berlin Koepenick .
history
The company was founded in August 1997 by the business graduate Martina Klink and the skipper Carsten Klink. The first units were two pushers of Finow class bought and as Mister Ed and Miss Ed put into service. The fleet was then continuously expanded and the ships were given names that begin with the letters Ed .
The Ed Line Service Center GmbH was founded on the premises of Yachtbau Berlin GmbH in 1999. It carries out all repair work on the Ed Line ships and offers a Europe-wide repair service. A year later the company headquarters was relocated from Gubener Straße to Wendenschloßstraße .
In 2005, the fleet was thrust by Johann Bunte taken and 2009 pushed convoy was Edlena with five covered barges made and a total length of 185 meters and 2,300 tons of cargo capacity into service.
From 2010 to 2013, three former icebreakers of the Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration were purchased, repaired and put back into service as Eis Ed ( Bison class ), Eis Ed 2 and Eis Ed 3 (both Oder class ).
In March 2015, the co-founder Carsten Klink left the company. The buyer of his company shares has appointed Martin Bock as the second managing director.
