Reformers window of the Evangelical City Church Ravensburg

The reformers' windows in the Evangelical City Church in Ravensburg , the district town of the district of the same name in southern Upper Swabia , were made from 1860 to 1862 in the workshop of Ludwig Mittermaier (1827–1864) in Lauingen .

The window cycle in the Evangelical City Church, created on behalf of the parish, consists of seven large-format leaded glass windows depicting important representatives of the Reformation . The drafts for the four reformers Johannes Brenz , Martin Luther , Philipp Melanchthon and Ulrich Zwingli were drawn by Gustav König from Munich. The templates for the secular rulers King Gustav Adolf of Sweden , Elector Friedrich the Wise and Duke Christoph von Württemberg come from Karl Christian Andreae from Dresden.

The window cycle shows seven ecclesiastical and secular representatives of the Reformation in the center of the five meter high glass windows.

The reformers windows were restored in the 1960s. They were removed and re-leaded, missing parts were added. Individual repairs were carried out on the windows until 2011. From 2016, the reformers' windows were examined in their installed state and then five exemplary fields were examined in depth in order to prepare a tender for the restoration of the entire window.
