Andeer Reformed Church
The Reformed Church in Andeer in Shams in the canton of Grisons is an Evangelical - Reformed church at the northern entrance to the village in a cemetery hill.
History and equipment
Built in 1673 after the turmoil in Graubünden in the Baroque style , today's church is based on the fabric of several predecessors. A church in Andeer at the same location is first mentioned in 1419. The striking tower that characterizes the village was raised in 1827 and covered with an onion helmet on the polygonal top. The church is a cantonal monument .
The center of the church is the baptismal font in front of the steps to the choir , which, according to the Reformed Graubünden tradition, also functions as a communion table. The inlaid pulpit dates back to 1677.
The organ was installed in 1967 and found its place on the gallery.
In 1687, 1711, 1758, 1786, 1833, 1864, 1894, 1921, 1971 and 2001, the Andeerer Church hosted the Graubünden Synod .
Church organization
Andeer belongs to the Colloquium II Schams-Avers-Rheinwald-Moesa within the Evangelical Reformed Regional Church of Graubünden . The parish - like the political community - has been merged with Clugin and Pignia since 2009 .
