Avers-Cresta Reformed Church
The Reformed Church in Avers-Cresta (also common Edelweiss Church ) is a Protestant - Reformed church under the monument of the canton of Grisons .
History and equipment
As the oldest, uniformly Romanesque valley church, the church dates back to the end of the 13th century and served as the main and baptismal church for centuries. The strikingly wide church tower with two-storey bell tower dates back to the 18th century and houses three bells from the pre-Reformation period from 1513. The smallest of the 4 bells was cast in 1989 by the H. Rüetschi bell foundry in Aarau. The benches, pulpit and choir stalls are made of Swiss stone pine and were last renovated in 1943/44. In the center of the choir is a baptismal font , which is also used as a communion table. The Appenzeller house organ dates from the 18th century.
