The Reformed Church in the hamlet of Cresta the village Ausserferrera in Val Ferrera (not to be confused with the Edelweiss church in the neighboring mountain valley in Avers-Cresta ) is an Evangelical - Reformed church under the monument of the canton of Grisons . It was last restored in 1997 by Joos & Mathys Architects.

History and equipment

The church was built around the year 1200, making it the oldest Christian sacred building in Val Ferrera. The bell in the barely plastered tower dates back to the pre-Reformation period in 1486 and is rung by hand. The lack of electricity in the terrace settlement also means that instead of an organ, a harmonium accompanies the hymns. In the middle of the apse of the choir is a baptismal font , which is also used as a communion table.

Church organization

Cresta Ferrera belongs to the merged parish of Ferrera, which is in pastoral fellowship with Avers . The Evangelical Reformed Regional Church of Graubünden conducts this within the Colloquium II Schams-Avers-Rheinwald-Moesa .
