Reformed Church Hausen am Albis
The Reformed Church of Hausen is a church building in the municipality of Hausen am Albis in the canton of Zurich .
History and building history
A Romanesque chapel already existed in Hausen in the early 13th century . A document from the Cistercian monastery of Kappel from 1235 even suggests the existence of a small sister house. Archaeological investigations were able to secure both the foundation walls of the Romanesque church and a new Gothic building from 1494. The tower stump has been preserved from this new building to this day. In 1751, a third, again larger, new building in the Baroque style was built according to plans by David Morf , which included parts of the previous Gothic building. The interior was designed as a lengthwise hall church . In 1905, neo-Gothic renovations by Paul Kuder followed . It was not until 1969 that the church was redesigned as a transverse space.
Building description
Exterior
The church has a clock and bell tower with a pointed spire and distinctive dials. The simple facades are characterized by arched windows and simple symbols .
inner space
The interior is oriented towards the liturgy area with pulpit and baptismal font . The U-shaped gallery takes up the baroque scheme of the Zurzach church in a postmodern variation . The organ is on the southwest gallery. Striking elements of the interior design are the tapestry by Lissy Funk from 1973 and the lighting system on the ceiling. The art-historically outstanding object of the interior is the late Gothic tabernacle with tracery - ornamentation , which is embedded in the tower wall.
