Reformed Church of S. Trinità (Vicosoprano)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Reformed Church of Santa Trinita ( Italian for "Holy Trinity") in Vicosoprano in Bergell is an Evangelical - Reformed church under the monument of the canton of Grisons . After San Cassiano, it is the younger of the two Reformed village churches and today it is the main sermon church in the village. It was last restored in 2001.

History and equipment

The church was built between 1758-61 in Baroque style with a filigree portal of granite built. Strikingly, it lacks a tower . The nave is covered with cross vaults and the choir is covered with fan vaults . Instead of a baptismal font typical of Reformed Bündnerkirchen, a communion table has been the focus since 1760 . The pulpit shows stylistic features of the Rococo . The organ is more recent and was installed in 1974.

Church organization

Vicosoprano forms a pastoral community with the other Bergell parishes . The Evangelical Reformed Regional Church of Graubünden conducts this within the Colloquium VII Engiadin'Ota-Bregaglia-Poschiavo-Sursès .
